We drove all day yesterday and arrived in Houston early this morning. On the last leg of the drive, I popped in Nirvana, “Nevermind” and listened to it in it’s entirety. It’d been several years since I listened to it all the way through, and I was surprised to find that the album had every bit as much energy and anger as I remembered- maybe even more. ”Smells Like Teen Spirit” gave me goosebumps that started in the intro and lasted through the feedback in the outro of the song. Afterwards, I moved on to Nirvana Unplugged In New York, and listened to it all the way through. I remember I used to fall asleep to that album every night during 7th and 8th grade. It’s strange, not only do I remember the words to every song, I remember every word that was spoken in between songs as well. It’s almost like Nirvana Unplugged was my version of a broadway musical- I learned every song, and every line spoken by each character on stage. Because in junior high, that’s exactly what professional musicians were to me, a fantasy. They were heros in a work of fiction.
Thanks for reading.

Agreed. Nirvana brings me to back to junior high too…and will always be the band that changed music for my forever.
