Embryonic: The Flaming Lips
Posted in Music | Tagged Sleeping At Last, The Flaming Lips, Tour |There have been several times in my life where I have fallen in love with an album before ever actually hearing any music from it. That has been the case with every single flaming lips album I've encountered in my adult life, including their latest, "Embryonic". I truly believe that no one sounds like The Flaming Lips, and they do not sound like anyone else. Oddly enough, embryonic has very little to do with anything this band has done before (especially in the last 10 years or so), and yet this album seems to be the ultimate incarnation of what they have probably always wanted to do. That doesn't necessarily make it my favorite album of theirs, but it sounds like they had a lot of fun making it. Instantly a classic.

Mute Math: Armistice

So, this is kind of old news by now, but the new MuteMath album is out now! It's a really great album, and I'm very thankful to have a few of my fingerprints on it. I did some strings, on "Clipping", "Pins and Needles", "Lost Year", and "Burden". So please check it out. There is a link to buy it here. Oh, and Paul (the lead singer) actually did some production work on my first album. Talented guys. They'll be all over the country in the next few months, so make sure to catch a show. Thanks!

more concert photos & a new microphone
Posted in Tour Photos |Hello there. Here are more photos from the Sleeping at Last show (courtesy of Matt Stephens). I enjoyed playing with them on some of their songs.
I found a new microphone this past week. It's one I've been looking at for a while, actually. I've been recording with it every night. It's a great mic for recording vocals.
The next few months are going to be busy. I am going on tour with Sleeping At Last. We are headed to the North East, I'll post a schedule as soon as I can.
Tomorrow I'll be back to post about the newest Mute Math Album, Armistice, which I was honored to play a small part in. Has anyone been listening to it already?
