Just tried this technique today, and I must say, it works wonders! I've been looking for a way to pull off that old-school drum sound, and this definitely takes the cake.

I saw this one Jon Foremans' twitter and thought, Good lord that would have been incredible to see, especially since I've seen y'all both separately within the same month. If only y'all had been in Dallas at the same time. Can't waif to hear yalls collaboration.

Good stuff Jeremy! I'd definitely be interested in hearing some samples of the variations you got. I've definitely fallen into this trap, as someone who's just starting to record my own stuff, with very little experience (with the recording process) it's been a battle to look up the "right" way to mic and EQ everything. I've gotten very frustrated when I replicate studio patterns that I find, and it sounds like garbage. Turns out, it's not that I was missing a step, or doing some "wrong", I was just wanting something more than what that setup would afford me. I find that I haven't experimented enough, on a daily basis. Anyway, thanks for the push in the right direction! Please keep posts like this coming!

Good for you! I truly believe when we support others, they in turn support us. Exposure, networking and taking risk - it shows your love for what you do.

I disagree with this statement "Most of my day was wasted." What you made that day was epic. Easily my favorite Sucre tune. And that's saying something because every track you guys play is fantastic. I actually fell in love with it live before hearing it recorded.
